    Capital Gazette Communications is seeking a skilled Administrative Assistant to join our local iconic news organization whose mission is to speak the truth, inform its citizens and provide the news and information that makes communities stronger. In addition to providing administrative support to the newsroom, this trusted team member will assist sales reps in call tracking, lead generation, appointment setting, coordinating special sections and events, ad fulfillment, and goal tracking.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform administrative functions for advertising sales, cover for the advertising sales team, and customer-facing tasks
    • Input advertising ad fulfillment to increase sales representative customer appointments
    • Track advertising competitors to provide up to date leads  for sales reps goal attainment
    • Coordinate advertising sales special sections with production team
    • Coordinate several local consumer and advertiser events, including attendee management, venue relations, etc., that support the advertising special sections revenue associated with these events.
    • Assist sales reps with administrative work i.e. projections, call tracking, appointment setting, getting creative/art from advertisers and goal tracking
    • Assist readers and advertisers visiting the office
    • Manage vendor and repair visits to the offices
    • Point of contact for the office landlord
    • Manage the office Fedex account and other incoming/outgoing deliveries
    • Assist the newsroom with listings compilations and other tasks, as needed
    • Attend weekly sales meetings

    • Other duties as needed in relation to digital sales and support

    Qualifications

    • Minimum HS diploma.  AA/BA/BS strongly preferred.
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both in person and in writing
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience in dealing with the public
    • Comfortable with MS Office suite
